Anxiety is a general feeling of fear and apprehension, which can be brought about by stressful situations. Normally we are able to cope with feelings of anxiety, and eventually get past them. However, when signs of economic downturn are all around – increased layoffs, depressed stock market, decline in consumer spending, rise in consumer debt – people may feel additional stress about their future monetary health.
