Understanding Sexuality

In the wake of California’s enactment of Proposition 8, which eliminated the right of same-sex couples to marry, one of the greatest civil rights debates to date, we are seeing a surge in media, politics and science that puts issues concerning sexuality in the spotlight. This increased awarneness means that now more than ever it is important to educate ourselves and society about sexuality to reduce anti-gay prejudice, discrimination, fear, and confusion. The components of sexuality include: biological sex, social gender role, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
