I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has extensive experience in both clinical and forensic (court-related) work with families of divorce. My private practice, located until 2013 in Northern California, is now located in Portland, Oregon.

I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families, doing various forms of divorce-related psychotherapy and psychological assessment. Aside from direct clinical services, I do consultation, teaching, supervision of doctoral students, and research.

My longstanding interest in working with high-conflict families of divorce led to substantial experiences with families in which allegations of “alienation” were raised. I developed a sub-specialty working with families in which a child aligns with one parent, and resists or refuses to have contact with the other parent. Along with several colleagues, I formulated an outpatient clinical intervention with these families, called the Multi-Modal Family Intervention (MMFI). This intervention usually involves all family members, and when possible, utilizes a collaborative team of professionals.
