Maureen King, PhD

Dr. King is a Ph.D. Clinical Psychologist specializing in assessment, therapy, and consultation, and maintains a private practice in San Antonio, TX. With over 15 years experience as a Clinical Psychologist, and having earned her Ph.D. at the University of Palo Alto/Stanford Consortium, she is currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of patients. Among her areas of expertise are: Crisis Intervention, Anxiety and Depression, PTSD, Military Issues, LGBT (esp. Transgender), Couples' Work, Transitional Youth (Age 18-25), Special Issues Affecting Creativity, Spiritual Concerns, and Bereavement (including Animal Companion Loss). Dr. King has been trained analytically (particularly Object Relations) during her residency at the University of California SF, but has also respecialized in cognitive and interpersonal modalities that are interactive, solution-focused and evidence-based. She has taken additional coursework in the interaction between neurobiology and psychology in an effort to understand emotional dysregulation and regulation and how these relate to life problems. Dr. King also provides Assessment, based on extensive training in Neuropsychology, Personality, Cognitive/IQ, and Learning Disabilities.
