Cultivating a sense of peace and purpose requires leaning into difficult emotions, having those tough conversations, and learning to take good care of the body on a regular basis. That's why my mission as a psychologist is to ease emotional suffering and promote wellbeing in the lives of others. It's a privilege to work with clients who are courageously trying to better understand their emotions, their relationships, and their own behaviors so they may truly thrive. I've worked with clients in university counseling centers, outpatient treatment centers, large healthcare organizations, and private practice.
I understand that biology, relationships, and culture all impact emotional distress, and there is no "one size fits all" approach to wellness. I listen closely, and I take care to develop a trusting relationship with each client. I help my clients clarify what they long for most, and I use evidence-based strategies to help them reach their goals.
Fear of the unknown can be paralyzing. Unfortunately that applies to therapy as well. Many people consider going to therapy for years before attending their first session because they don't know what to expect or if therapy will help. If that describes you, I'd like to warmly say this - you are brave, it will likely help, and I will root for you at every turn.
