Therapy for Older Americans

For some people, seeking support from a psychologist can be a difficult step. Unfortunately, there still may be a stigma surrounding mental health, despite evidence that therapy can drastically improve the quality of a person’s life. Increasing numbers of Americans are realizing that therapy isn’t for “crazy” people; it’s a valuable service that can improve any person’s quality of life. For example, an increasing number of elderly Americans are taking the initiative to contact support from a secure, private professional. In rising numbers, members of America’s Greatest Generation are overcoming stigmatized perspectives of therapy, resulting in a higher quality of life.
